Again For You
When love grabs us by the nape,
Who can let us go?
When we’ve lingered in the fire,
Who will now emerge?
The distance from cloud to eye
Opens a blue space,
Flat, shaped like sadness.
But is not sadness.
The sunset blazes
From cloud to eye the fire
Of longing’s urgent promise.
As long as light shines in the air
Love is not done changing us.
Who can let us go?
When we’ve lingered in the fire,
Who will now emerge?
The distance from cloud to eye
Opens a blue space,
Flat, shaped like sadness.
But is not sadness.
The sunset blazes
From cloud to eye the fire
Of longing’s urgent promise.
As long as light shines in the air
Love is not done changing us.
